Good show.. Welll-acted.. Suspenseful.. i didn't like how it kept going back and forth in time..even though, usually by Six months.. It sure keeps the viewer on his/her toes...Still, the show did not go in the chronological order, and that can get confusing at times..Still, you might want to give this show a try..Best to start right at the beginning with the First Series..

This visual beach book is a lot of fun to watch thanks to an excellent cast. Glenn Close as Patty Hewes shows a driving ambition and cruelty with flashes of vulnerability and pain. For me, the most interesting aspect of this series is the expert editing. We see quick cuts jumping from present to past to future which serve to both illuminate unexplained actions and create a foreshadowing tension around others. If this series had been presented in a linear time frame, it would have been far less interesting. I'm looking forward to season 4. It's a beach book ... but a very good beach book.
Found out that Season 3 was the final season. I'll miss it.

Not as good as the first season, but better than the second. This time around, Patty and Ellen are on the same side aiming to bring down a corrupt family. The acting, as usual, is top notch, the plot is complicated and the whole thing is very enjoyable even though the last couple of episodes are quite tragic.

The third season of Damages has a storyline similar to the Madoff ponzi scheme. Patty's firm represents the victims of the scheme and is trying to recover stolen assets. Meanwhile Ellen is working at the district attorney's office responsible for criminal charges against the family involved in the ponzi scheme. This season has various twists and turns and tragic results at the season's end. Not quite as good as previous seasons but it's still good entertainment.

The jerky time shifts (with audio crash) are ridiculous "video game "exciting action". They should have had more faith in their great actors' ability to carry the show, which is why season 3 almost succeeds in spite of the writers.
