Summary
Add a SummaryBased on the true story of Harriet Tubman, this story captures Harriet's beginning journey prior to the underground railroad and how her struggle for freedom became her inspiration to help other slaves road to freedom.
Moses: When Harriet Tubman Led Her People to Freedom is a book about how Harriet Tubman was led to freedom. Her spiritual strength, faith, and hope along side her courage, determination, and listening ear assisted her in her journey to become free. Her dependence on God alone helped her to see the way in which she should go.
Harriet Tubman led hundreds of men, and women to freedom. Taking only her faith with her she traveled on the Underground Railroad to freedom. Her bravery and pursuit to freedom is the testament everyone knows. This is a different approach to an inspiring story of Harriet Tubman and the underground railroad.

Add a CommentThis is a beautifully illustrated book meant to be read by adults to children. In it, we observe the facts while listening to the self talk that Harriet Tubman said to keep herself going. I use it in therapy to teach children how to speak to themselves when facing challenges.
This is a wonderful book about Harriet Tubman, and how she's compared to Moses in the Bible!
This book is a great book for children of all ages that has fantastic pictures and the words of the story that seem to illuminate and surround the pictures. The story brings to life the days of slavery pre Civil War. I recommend this story because of it being a true story about the underground railroad. Children are able to gain an understanding of a slaves life and desire to be free, The pictures are so beautifully done that the expressions are visual on each page. The descriptive words help any person hearing the story, be able to travel in time and see the endurance of a pioneer for creating the path of freedom for slaves.
Parents, I believe this is a good book for your children to read. This story is the fictional side of Harriet Tubman journey to freedom and how it takes place. She mostly has a conversation with God. This book explains slavery and shows how slaves did have a spiritual connection and depended on God. This is a great read to teach your children about slaver and God and the impact that both have had on Americas foundation and views today. At the end of the story they also offer biographical information about Harriet Tubman. This teaches them the difference between fact and opinion. Also, the illustrations are invigorating and will keep the readers attention.
Parents, I think this is a great book for you to read to your children. In school they hear about Harriet Tubman and the Underground Railroad, but for them to read the story even though it is told in someone else's words it is amazing. This book does talk about Harriet's faith and trust in God, but even if you do not believe in God, parents if you believe in some higher power, this is still a great book for you to read to your children about a higher power, and how you should trust the higher power (God) even when you can't trace it (him).
