Fans of the farm animals in Click Clack Moo and other Doreen Cronin books will enjoy this latest adventure. As usual, Duck is on his game and up to shenanigans. The illustrators are delightful and include visual send ups like the chickens struggling to work with chicken wire.

SUMMARY: Farmer Brown is very excited because of the upcoming corn maze festival. He wishes to make a Statue of Liberty maze and is willing to do whatever necessary to get it done. He coerces and bribes the animals to help him build a fence, paint the barn, and make the ticket booth. Meanwhile, duck is up to something nefarious (as usual). Every day, Farmer Brown works and every night, Duck works (or unworks?). The day finally arrives for Farmer Brown to check out his maze by hot air balloon. Duck climbs aboard. An interesting surprise awaits them.

ILLUSTRATIONS: The illustrations created in watercolor were the highlight. They were nicely and simply done with plenty of color.

THE GOOD: Like I said, the pictures were the highlights in this continuation of the Moo series. I liked the open out two pager of the corn maze. There was a little bit of humor if you looked closely enough.
THE NOT AS GOOD: This book had a very negative feeling to it. The farmer coerced the animals to do his work and Duck worked to ruin Farmer Brown's most coveted thing. The writing was also very stilted and uninteresting.
