It was simple, protect the teammates no matter the cost. For Chris 'Knuckles' Nilan this meant a shattered body, addiction to drugs, and harming the people closest to him. But in the process, he won the love of hockey's city, Montreal, and helped win the Stanley Cup. Through interviews with hockey's toughest guys, the film explores what it means to enforce the unspoken code of the NHL.

A must see for hockey fans. It was done as an independent film, so did not garner much publicity in the States. Shows mostly Chris Nilan, who was as tough as they came back int he eighties and nineties. It also highlights a few other enforcers. Nilan, fought hard, then later one battles drug addiction, and alcohol hard. What a trip he took. Very insightful into the life of a Stanley cup winning enforcer.

First hour is a lot of fun, as it focuses on Chris Nilan but also talks about enforcers in hockey in general, and interviews a number of them. The last part is about Nilan's post-career alcoholism and drug usage and is a little more movie of the week.
