If you enjoyed shows like LOST or Twin Peaks or X-Files, you'll like Wayward Pines. If you gave up on shows like LOST or Twin Peaks or X-Files because they never gave solid answers to the many questions they brought up, you'll love Wayward Pines. The show answers its mysteries directly and early on, and takes a whole new direction halfway through the season. Avoid spoilers at all costs! Also avoid season 2.

In the era of the Bush-Obama pervasive surveillance, endless war state (inherited by Trump who will no doubt preserve, if not, expand it) Wayward Pines is a thoughtful, compelling, and timely metaphorical treatment of, among other things, the faux conflict between security/survival and privacy/freedom. The story is engaging and the production values are high. The acting is great, especially the performances by Melissa Leo and Matt Dillon.

This show is for anyone who liked LOST! What a wild ride of conspiracy theories and paranoia.

Laughably illogical at every turn but despite disliking it, I watched the whole season, so I can't give it my .5 star rating. But really, just so silly.

I'm not sure what I thought 'Wayward Pines' would actually be about. My guess is that I may still not really know all the secrets and intrigues of the place. I can say that it's interesting and the cast and acting is terrific. Principles Matt Dillon, Toby Jones, and Melissa Leo form a strong spine upon which hang a rich cast of characters portrayed by excellent actors: Terrence Howard, Juliette Lewis, Hope Lange. It's fast-paced and layered; I can't wait to see where it all leads.
