Caught up in the frantic pace of her new job and well aware of Wilson's reputation as a muckraker with a fierce antigambling agenda, PR consultant Kate Logan, Pacific's Manager of Communcations, gives him the brush off. Circumstances draw them closer, however, and she begins to understand his motivation. When the evidence does a complete 180 and implicates Wilson, Kate knows she has to separate the truth from the lies before becoming the next victim.

"The Bloody Business of Luck" by Trine Bronken was a reasonably well plotted mystery. The murder part was quite muted, though. The body count was actually two but neither was central to the story. Lottery and gambling fraud was what the bad guys were doing more than killing. And, although I was amused that parts of the story took place within two blocks of where I actually live, I found that there was way too much detail about places and locations, so much so that the story dragged.
