A colorful and distressing story of a man in South Africa who loses his farm, family and life.

A beautifully written book that gives a flavor of South Africa during the apartheid era. The dialogue and descriptions are very precise and impart specific details that make the story come alive. The story weaves back and forth between different periods of the protagonist's life, so it is a little hard to track at times, but still great writing.
