Morgan continues his cyberpunk universe where consciousness can be downloaded into new bodies. Life in this context is cheap, and the violence stays at a high level. This second novel has an intriguing storyline about Martian artifacts, reflecting a vastly higher level of civilization existing millennia before humans. But did the Martians truly evolve beyond warfare?

Second one with hero Takeshi Kovacs. Not as exciting a read as Altered Carbon, maybe the concept of "sleeves" as new host bodies for people is not so exciting. Mystery of Martian ruins, various mercenary characters - was OK but found myself skimming at times, skipping any philosophy and looking for some action. Not sure if was my mood or the book - I suspect the latter. Won't be watching for more in the series.

OK. Enough is enough! I've read two Takehish Kovacs "novels" now and if I do any more it'll be under the covers with a flashlight! This isn't literature, it's marketing. I hope the movie comes out soon so I can boycott it.
