I can't believe it, but I finished this one in one sitting - it was that compelling. I needed to know what happened next and that kept me going all the way through to the end. Very creepy vibe - in the best way possible.

Other reviews I've read mention they thought it started off a bit slowly because of all the 'perfect' (nobody wants to read about happy people doing happy things, right?) But I didn't get that feeling, myself. Right off, I could tell from the subtle clues the writer provided that something was rotten - and I wanted to know what it was.

Highly recommended. I'd gladly read another book by this writer.

One of the best narrators/readers! She did an amazing job. This novel was very captivating while disturbing. Definitely makes you wonder about those "perfect marriages". Enjoyed the present and past flip-flop throughout the book.

I found the story compelling and liked the alternating past and present story lines that come together at the end. Behind Closed Doors is certainly a [horrifying but] *captivating* read.

Be warned this is a very dark and disturbing book. For me the psychological warfare was just too much. I had to stop listening.
