Thomas Wentworth Higginson writes to William Lloyd Garrison discussing "some inexplicable misprints" which were found in a letter he wrote that was published in the Liberator. Higginson cites two specific examples of misprints, including how he intended to say "the Unitarians of New England, & the Society of Friends," but was "made to say the Christians of New England, which destroys the meaning." He asks that "if anything looks unintelligible in the letter, have the charity to believe that it meant something as originally written." Higginson says he "prefer[s] to write my own nonsense rather than have it made for me." Along the spine margin, Higginson adds that the editor of the Merchants' Magazine has included an article he wrote about slavery in the July issue.
