Rate this:
Francis George Shaw responds to William Lloyd Garrison's inquest concerning Miss Lewis, and asserts his regrets that it is simply not possible of aiding her in her work at the present moment. Shaw declares to Garrison that his interview with Lewis confirmed that Garrison's description of her character was entirely accurate, but that her attempted work will "be a failure", as he cannot conceive of any one "modelling a bust from pictures or from memory". Shaw forwards to Garrison a letter from his wife to Lewis, and states his obligation to Garrison for transmitting this to her.
