"For the first time in my life, I didn't feel envy..." Tess is the exact opposite of her beautiful, athletic sister. And that's okay. Kristina is the sporty one, Tess is the smart one, and they each have their place. Until Kristina is diagnosed with cancer. Suddenly Tess is the center of the popular crowd, everyone eager for updates. There are senior boys flirting with her. But, the smiles of her picture perfect family are cracking and her sister could be dying. Now Tess has to fill a new role: the strong one. Because if she doesn't hold it together, who will? Janet Gurtler tests the bonds of sisterhood in this moving debut that readers of Jodi Picoult and Sarah Dessen will savor.

is the book really good?

I loved this book too! I'm going to read "who i kissed" next and I have "if i tell" out as well. It was so sad, though! I felt really bad about Kristina and miss Jeremy too!

It was a really decent book. It was not my favorite Genre, but I really enjoyed it.

It had a good storyline, but the characters were underdeveloped. The family was cheesily dysfunctional. It was worth reading.

This book was very well-plotted, and it kept the pages moving. I had the time, and it was easy to read it all in one go. Some of the characters were one-sided cliches, but others were incredibly rounded out, and the main character's voice was one of the best I've read in awhile.

Very nice novel. Hard to read, but just as, if not harder, to put down.

A gritty, raw YA about a girl who finds herself the only strong one in her dysfunctional family when her beautiful, popular older sister is diagnosed with cancer. Not an easy read, but impossible to put down.

Really good. I liked Tess' character and Kristina, too. And I miss Jeremy.

This book was so amazing. I laughed at Tess's sarcastic humor so much. But i also bawled my eyes out for her. for Kristina. For Jeremy. For all those characters that touched my heart. This is an incredible book and i highly recommend it to anyone who is stil dubious of reading it!
