The show reimagines the origin of the mythic Kong in a compelling, original adventure. In the film, a diverse team of explorers is brought together to venture deep into an uncharted island in the Pacific, as beautiful as it is treacherous, unaware that they're crossing into the domain of the mythic Kong.

Hank Marlow: Hey, what happened with the war? Did we win?
James Conrad: Which one?
Hank Marlow: Uh-huh. That makes sense.

Hank Marlow: Kong's a pretty good king. Keeps to himself, mostly. This is his home, we're just guests. But you don't go into someone's house and start dropping bombs, unless you're picking a fight.

Add a CommentThis was a terrible movie. All of the characters must be insane to make the choices that they do. I realize Samuel L Jackson is supposed to insane but the other characters aren't supposed to be.
Kong smash! Lots of good actors here looking lost amidst all the CGI beasties and explosions. At least they try to treat the natives with a little more nuance than Peter Jackson did in his atrocious "King Kong" remake.
The grandeur of the King Kong story has become grandiose and flat in this noisy, big monster clobberin' time fightfest. Sammuel L Jackson's squawky-voiced, bulging-eyed delivery failed to convince me of his blood mania.
A small nod to Beauty was all the available sentimentality, although John C. Reilly's "Santa Claus" did twang half a heartstring.
Given the cast, I expected more from this flick. Lots of noise, roaring, fire and fury, but the story line was weak, while the special effects were terrific. Great Saturday afternoon fare for adolescents.
You should see the scene after the credits...
Gives you a clue about the second godzilla movie!
This isn't a complete spoiler by the way...
As visually great as you would expect one of these movies to be though the story is also what you would expect with an interesting 'connection' to the Vietnam War....
Kong Skull Island is a movie about a group scientists who are being protected by military personnel lead under the command of Preston Packard, and their tracker, James Conrad. The group is on a journey to an uncharted island in the Pacific but, unluckily for them this will not be an easy journey. After arriving onto the island, the group realizes they are not alone as they are “greeted” by Kong who manages to destroy a few of the group’s helicopters. The group is split up and now they must rendezvous with each other, all while staying alive, which will not be a simple task as Kong is not the only danger on the island. Kong Skull Island was a good movie and I enjoyed watching it. The movie had comedic moments, good fight scenes, some swearing here and there, and a lot of blood. I would rate this film 4/5.

Good entertainment - take the thinking caps off and enjoy the ride.
Solid movie! I enjoyed Sam Jackson as the villain!
Great re-envisioning of a classic movie. Although my standard is the Jack Black one so.... my view isn't coming from a classical perspective.
Can't wait to see Godzilla vs. BA KONG!
