Jim Lebans makes space and physics entertaining and understandable to even the most unknowledgeable person through brief, yet logical explanations and a light, humourous tone (although not funny enough to LOL at). I would give this 5 stars if it had pictures or diagrams. Since this book is directed at amateurs, it can be sometimes difficult to visualize things correctly despite the good use of analogies.

I've enjoyed listening to Quirks and Quarks since I was a kid and this book is a nice extension of the show. It really emphasizes how special we are in the universe and how unlikely we are to ever find another place just like our home. They answer a lot of questions from: Where does space actually begin? to What are the chances we will ever be able to colonize other planets?
