Too fluffy and too much Jesus for my liking. Cute couple and story but it didn’t feel like much more than an extended puff piece sadly.

How wonderful to read this really cute couple's story. I am happy that they admit openly that God is seeing them through their journey (and I'm far from being a bible thumper). All the best to Jo and Chip Gaines.

Flip and Joannes life to gather flipping houses and home improvements with there own tv show. They had a gift for remodeling houses and selling them, but I found the book boring.

This book showed me a glimpse of the real couple behind the popular "Fixer Upper" show. My friend told me that this is a good show . We don't watch TV and Im surprised to know that Chip & Joanna also don't watch TV either! it is so refreshing to sense the genuine and honesty of this couple- and people sense that. I do! with their funny, imperfect, touching, heart warming stories and even struggles. As well as their family beliefs and faith system which for me is courageous. Because of this I am more curious and give them more respect- Now I know why they are popular! But I still don't watch TV :)

I really enjoyed this book, it was very honest and I feel like I got to know the Gaines on a more personal level!

I loved the book and I love the show. These two are just perfect together! I love their designs and they seem so down to earth.

Okay, let me start off by saying I LOVE THESE TWO! My mom jokes that Ryan and I are like them because Ryan is so off-the-wall like Chip and I am the one that has to reign him in and try to keep him on task. Anywho, I was STOKED to hear that they came out with a book and gobbled it up as soon as it became available for me at the library. Learning their backstory made me love them even more. I love how they put God, each other and their family first. They have been beyond blessed and they haven't taken an ounce of it for granted. They are super down-to-earth and I am thrilled to hear that fame and the spotlight hasn't changed that for them. If you like their show, Fixer Upper, on HGTV, then this is a must read!

If you love "Fixer Upper," then this is a must-read for you. It's a quick read with some really funny and poignant moments, very true to what you see on the Gaines' show.

I had low expectations on this book.
Preachy, no.
Could hear their voices in he said/she said format.
A lot of unvarnished background on their family & where they lived.
Surprised Chip was a home & business flipper even back in university days.
Joanna the "local Firestone spokesperson" for her father more famous than "Big man on campus" Chip on their first date from total stranger? Heh.
Their first year of marriage was eye-opening.
Felt honest on the 2008 downturn & not abandon their property development.
Surprised their bank manager could be nice & generous after reduced line of credit.
Laughed their HGTV audition tape with camera crew was wooden until Chip bought big-ticket item & Joanna exploded. Incident convinced executives they were the ones.

Love the show even more, now that I know about the struggles they had to overcome on their way to the success. Quick read.
