Out of these 2, low-budget, Suspense/Thrillers from 1943 (both filmed in b&w and produced by Val Lewton) - It's, without question, The Leopard Man that's the real stand-out, in my books, here. If nothing else - (Without having buckets of blood and gore ground into your face) - These 2 tales-of-the-unusual (and their high production values) are both perfect examples of the eerie atmosphere and mounting terror that can be created by a truly gifted and skilled director even when working with a limited budget. Feature #1 - The Leopard Man (66 minutes) - As castanets wildly clack - An escaped leopard provides the catalyst for a paralysing fear and panic that quickly spreads, like wildfire, throughout a sleepy New Mexico town..... (*Watch movie-trailer*) Feature #2 - The Ghost Ship (69 minutes) - All aboard! - Veteran actor, Richard Dix plays the sinister Captain Stone whose port of call may very well be "madness".
